I was with my dad this afternoon on his farm in Green Co. We were turning around in a little clearing and I noticed something black moving in the treeline. When it finally came into clear view it was about the size and shape of a red fox. I have heard about black coyotes. Think it was a juve yote or is there a black phase in foxes?

I've mounted coyotes in every color phase from fox red to solid black. If it was a juvenile coyote, it could lighten up a bunch when it puts its winter adult coat on.

I have seen black yotes mounted before, beautiful, it was just that it looked so much like a black fox I wanted to ask if anyone had seen one.

I know yotes can be black, and I'm pretty sure foxes can be too.

Red fox can be what they call silver phase. Google it. They are a lot more common farther north than us though.

Sweet, looks like what I saw but I still can't be sure. Maybe I'll find out for sure this fall.:)
