kyhunter, don't want any of your secret spots, but where do you put in Hickman? I live and teach down there, but don't know where to wade. I've got a great spot on the Elkhorn, but it's at least 40 minutes away and I just don't have time to get up there much. Thanks for the help.

whatcha catch 'em on?
RH, don't know about Hickman, but the only thing I use on Elkhorn are Rebel Wee Crawdads. Ultra-light gear and 4 lb test. It's usually pretty fast water and they eat'em up. Been with a friend who was throwing little tube jigs (he swore by them) and I out caught him at least 20:1. No joke.

jmo to answer your question just get on 27 and theres a street called SUGAR CREEK PIKE you take a left on it off of 27. then you go down it prolly 2 miles(approximately) and theres a little drop off street to the left its called BRUMFELD and you follow that until it dead ends and we always wade it but you could definetly put a canoe in it. some spots for maybe 100-200 yards you will have to get out and walk your canoe. but it gets pretty deep we found a couple holes that were 6-8 ft deep and you will burn up the redeye and smallmouth on white rooster tails, white and the multicolored (green yellow and orange) ones. Good luck to ya if ya ever go down there. Heck you might see us down there sometime.:D
kyhunter, thanks for the input. I'll try to make it down there sometime soon. I'm all catch and release, so they'll still be there for you. I assume there's no problem with parking and access? Don't want a load of rock salt in my butt. Thanks.
