I just had Kings archery put a ultra drop away rest on my TOMKAT (bowtech). It shot pretty good, but was at the club after a shoot yesterday and decided to see what the center shot looked like. After shooting I noticed I had a right tear. I eyeballed the limb bolts to see where the arrow set and it was left quite a bit, so i centered the arrow with the limb bolts and shot again. It didnt change the tear, but just a little. The move changed my sights 18" @20 yds. So now what? anybody have any suggestions? IM shooting a 400 st axis arrow at 350 grains @60# @242 fps., F.O.C is 10.89 % and K.E. is 45. There are no clearance issue for sure. I have noticed after release, that my arrow is making a sound like a bullet rickashaying and on occassion I will see the arrow in flight make a roll mid flight at least that is what I think I see anyway. Im anal about my form so I dont think that is it either. Any avice would be deeply appreciated.

paper tune your bow, get the tear you want, sight it back in, and go hunt with it in a few weeks.....sounds like you already know what to do:D

I finally figured it out. Most of it, if not all of it, was in the way I was placing my hand in the grip. It was ever so slight but it was enough to change my form a little. I think I will see a big difference when paper tuneing next time. One more lesson learned. Never say never.

check the rest timing they are super finicky. It most arm during the last 3 inches of draw anything more will cause the arrow to hit the rest and the safety will make a loud noise when the arrow hits it

Check vane clearance on the Ultra Drop, I had that rest and my blazers hit the rest badly. I could not get it adjusted right ever.

I done the spray powder test last night and had no signs of hitting anything. It is clearing very well. Im not shooting as fast as most, 242 fps. I know some of the faster bows have this problem. Thanks for the advice.

Greg, I dont know what spine arrow you were using but the arrow may have been over flexing for future reference. You might already know this, but you can change how the arrow clears the rest by what spine you choose. Somebody please correct me if Im wrong. Im no expert by no means but this is my understanding.

i work at Kings Archery bring it up i would be more than happy to help you out even with grip. This happens alot with guys esp with fall away rest. We will get your grip worked on no prob. a lot of guys shoot different from others and hand torque is very frustrating let me tell ya. We set center shot on them whenever we put rest on and also timing so you should have no issues but bring it back up and would be more than happy to help ya out.
