No new posts on the fishing forum in awhile.Either everyone keeping their fishing trips under wraps, or it's too hot to fish. Gonna wade the Licking this evening late after work try for an eye or sauger.

Too hot? Nobody fishing lately?

The creeks and rivers are still producing great numbers of smallies and musky, boy boated a 40 incher on a buzz bait the other morning. Also caught several smallies up to 3 pounds.

Do you know, is there access to the river on hwy.111 at Fox creek? I can see a house and a path from the river there. What road is that, and is there access?

It may be too hot to do anything else, but it is never too hot to fish! Especially when you are fishing from a lawn chair submerged up to the seat into the river!!!!

I went Sunday and got plenty of action. Quite a few smallmouth, but none of any size. I was getting lots of short bites. I am thinking I need some trailer hooks for my tube worm before I go out next time. I boated a nice sized white perch.

I fished the Ohio Monday night for a while and only got two bites. I did catch a lot of skipjack for bait though.

I think fish are biting pretty good right now. It's just to hot in the middle of the day, but the evenings have been alittle easier to handle.

Action is pretty good on whites and hybrids below Greenup Dam.. The fish are in the jumps and people were shoulder to shoulder on the banks in eve.. We fished it a few times from a boat and caught plenty.. Fish are being caught from the bank, but you need to be able to get out there.. Everything we caught were 5lbs. to 8lbs..

It's never too hot or too cold to fish!:D I have been to Green River Lake about 8 times in the last several weeks with the most recent trip this past weekend. All trips were night fishing. Pretty sure the temp never dropped much below 80 and the humidity was horrible. However, we managed to catch several bass. I got some reports on good sacks of bass being caught at Green River (24+lbs), Nolin (21+lbs), Herrington (14lbs) and others this past weekend. They gotta eat sometime!:D I might as well be there to catch 'em.

The hotter it is, the better the beer flows while fishing.;)

Not sure. That is off my area. I will try to find out though.

We've been doing pretty good in a couple of big ponds. Went last night for an hour and a half, total was a 11.9lb channel cat, 6.6lb largemouth, a bunch of 1-4 lb largemouths and 1 1 lb crappie. All but two on the same white spinner bait. We didn't start fishing until almost 8:00 and were back home by 9:30, sat in the AC in the truck and waited for the bait to start moving at the top of the water before we got out in the heat!

Look for some kind of structure on points or drops fishing above the thermocline. If it has bait (shad, etc) on it all the better. Some nights I catch them 10-12ft deep, some nights 15-16ft deep, some nights 20ft+.

Right now is the best time to do some wade fishing in the streams. I've been catching several nice Smallies during the middle of the day.

I fish year round but at the present time I'm sortta in a change/over to hunting mode. I fish when the sweat is pouring off me and when ice is freezing on my line except when deer or turkey season is in.
