We're hosting and old time Turkey Shoot in district 7 at the Mountain Home Place on Paintsville Lake. The proceeds will go to the cancer fund. We're working on dates and time now. This will include shotguns, muzzle loaders, and hand guns. There will be individual shoots and team shoots. Have any of you guys ever shoot in a turkey shoot?

Yes, I have been to many "turkey shoots" over the years. Three & Out, Killer take all and paper shoots. Even went to an Alvin York type turkey shoot many years ago when I was a kid up in your neck of the woods.

Flintlock is that Alvin York shoot where they nail their feet to a board and just the head is sticking up? Hope you can make it up it should be a go time and it is diffently for a good cause.

You are taxing what few memory molecules I have left but best I remember is that the bird's head came out the side of the iron box and the bird's head was somewhat free to move. I suspect that this type of shoot may verge on the side of illegal now and may have been so then but it sure was fun to watch.
