Decided to refletch some of my own arrows since i had an az fletcher for a number of years but just never really tried it.Im think i might be doing something wrong. The glue is rough around the fletchings after i remove the tool.If i cut back on the glue it seems that i dont get good adhesion.Im using fletch-tite platinum and cleaning my arrows with water and comet and a scotch brite and then letting them dry for about an hour.I also am using beeman 400 camo hunters and 2 inch blazers.Any advice would help.

if you are having an adhesion problem, is the glue not sticking to the vane or shaft? some of the fluorescent blazers have some adhesion issues. verify the glue is adhering to the shaft and vane. i use white blazers with loctite super glue gel and don't have problems. the gel glue works very well, it the platinum you are using gel?

The glue that im using doesnt say anything on the package about being agel.As far as i can tell it is not a gel.How do you get that super glue off your shafts ?Im also wondering how these vanes are going to perform on a30 inch 3-60 with 100 gr montecs.I shoot a switchback xt and an lx,depending on what kind of mood im in.

i scrape the shafts with a dull knife. i shoot acc's as well, the blazer/montec combination on the 3-60 should be death on deer. i hope you are shooting 65 lbs to 70 lbs with that arrow.

the idea with the gel, you can run a thin bead in place in the groove of the vane and it will not run. when you close the clamps around the shaft it will then spread the glue out to the edges, as opposed to using a thin glue that will run. the gel seems to do better when compressed by the vane after you have it in the clamp.

Thanks Keith.I shoot 68 lbs.I have also been using this combination on deer since the montecs first came out.Had a little problem with the sharpness at first but got help on that. Havent bought new broadheads for two years.Have taken several deer every year with resharpened heads.I dont have a tally as i have not been keping track.
