I noticed Hammer's comment on the deer side regarding number of young hatched this spring. I had part of a large flock come down in front of my stand Friday and I counted around 60 birds and their were still alot of birds on the ridge calling that never came into my view. A high percentage of the birds were young birds. I think the hatch was OK in my area and shouldn't have been much different down the road on your place. Just my observations!

that's good to hear. My father killed a big gobbler opening of the fall shotgun season, but otherwise, we have not seen one in the field this year. Saw a bunch last fall/winter. I'm also not seeing them like I used to crossing over the bridge on 185 Warren/Butler border. Used to always see turkeys on both sides of the road there.

It was on Ky Afield they were talking to Lane the Turkey biologist and he stated that the hatch was down this year. 2 to 2.3 poults per hen. Lowest in 10 years.

If you can read this, Thank a teacher. If you can read this in English, Thank a Soldier.
