Murphy,
What style of dog are you looking for in speed and do you need papers? If you like medium to faster dogs that jump real good I know the man that can give you the best there is for a good price. Eugene Groce 606-387-5698 in Albany KY. He lives beagles and has two 20+ acre running pens so he can train his dogs a lot. These dogs are tough at 7 or 8 months old and seen more rabbits by them than most guys 2 year old dogs.

Anyway, I’ll tell you a little story. I got a pair of pups 3 years back from Eugene and after a year I decided to get rid of the lesser dog and go with some of the HOFGRC field trail bloodlines – big mistake for me and my luck. Nothing against those dogs, I own a couple that are okay but they don’t please me like Eugene’s dogs do. Been disappointed ever since with what I’ve gotten or got rid of. I still wish I had that first one back. To make a long story short I saw the light and went back Eugene and got another awesome dog. I have 4 now and 2 from him that are far superior hounds. They handle better, jump better and work closer to me and put the fear of God in the rabbit’s eyes.

Eugene’s 12 month old hounds run around $250, but these year old dogs will show up most dogs that are much older and his pups run from $100 to $150, but they can run a rabbit. He runs his dogs every day and with hunting season around the corner now is the time to call him—his dogs go fast as the season approaches. I am going down Saturday with a buddy to get himself another dog. If you call him tell him I told you (Sean Purser from Louisville) and maybe he’ll give you a break. He is real nice guy, a retired school Principle.

That is my testimony for his hounds, learned my lesson and won’t buy another from anyone else.

I ain’t knocking anyone’s breeding, there are just so many differing styles people prefer and his is the style I like. If you have any questions or want to see my dogs from him run just drop me an email and we’ll talk or run. As you can tell I love beagles more than any other outdoor activity and I could ramble for hours.

“A hound that pleases you is the best hound in the world”
