I mean the spots on the back legs are obvious but I have NEVER seen a BOBCAT this big, is this for sure a bob? Sure has me fooled if it is.

looks to me like it has a longer tail than any bobcat i've seen, look at the first picture.

Those "spots" on the back leg look like shading or spots from the sun...could just be a blur in the pic as the leg was moving forward when the pic was taken.........More important to me is where this pic was taken because what ever it is seems to be eating rather well....

In my opinion this is a big cat like a mt lion.......

did you see any tracks that could be identified?

this was posted from a guy on another site, we were debating on what it is, IMO its a lion, as I have seen one once b4 in the fleming/rowan county area but most on the other site seem to think its a bob, I've seen a ton of bobs and this is different from any of them I have seen. All I know is it was somewhere in green county, probably on the eastern end knowing the location of the poster.

Definitely a large Bobcat....despite their names their tales vary in length, I think the first pic what appears to be a long tale is actually the rear of his leg. As tehy walk their legs go in and under their belly.

looks like a bobcat to me. You can see his tail better in the 2nd pic. He's a big 'un, though. I'd guess 45 pounds? Looks roughly the size of my coonhound. He weighs about 45 pounds.

Looks to me like a large mature adult male bobcat. I've got an adult male bobcat that I got mounted that looks a lot like the one in the picture. The one I have mounted has the same leg markings and same markings on the belly. It also has almost no markings on its sides or back. You can't see any spots on the one I have mounted until you get up close, except for the stripes on it legs and markings on its belly like the one in the picture. The one I have mounted has an eight inch tail and weighed just a couple ounces under 30 pounds!!! Most people do not realize bobcats get that big but some of the males do. And you really can't appreciate how big that is unless you have seen one up close and in person. The one I've got came from Pulaski County.
I'm not saying that I don't think there are mountain lions in KY by no means though. I have saw two myself in the wild in eastern KY. I have no doubts what I saw and no matter what anyone thinks I know without a shadow of a doubt that the ones I saw were for sure mountain lions. I was about 100 yards away from the first one (I watched it with 10 power binos for about five minutes) and the second one I was about 50 yards from for about 10 minutes. The ones that I saw were both in the Harlan/Leslie county area. I also have a really good friend that has saw one on his hunting property on several different occassions over the last 4 years in the Rowan/Fleming county area.

It's definately a large bobcat. If you save the top pic to your puter where you can zoom on it, you can see the pointed ears very well. I have seen a VERY large bobcat here in Laurel Co.

If you zoom in you can also see the spots on the back of his ears. Mountian lions do not have spots.

I have bee doing some research for my mule deer hunt this fall. Visit some western hunting forums. They have trail camera pics of lions. You will see there is no resemblence to a bobcat whatsoever.

My bad guys, Im not a reg. around here but I knew you guys could help. As for the Rowan/fleming county area, thats where Im from originally, and I can verify that your friend is serious, I have seen one once on the D&H resort property, out near muses mill.

This pic is really making its rounds. It was talked about this morning on the Joe B and Denny show. They even posted a pic on their site.
