Scary. Glad she is okay. I guess I know what you will be doing this weekend - continuous anti-snake patrol...

I have thought about that, getting bit on the top of the foot. These hot summer nights, I sometimes walk down to the dog pen in my flipflops. I freak my self out sometimes thinking about it, or stepping on a stick. I know, it's not real smart to do that. I did kill a rattle snake in my driveway afew years ago. Granted, my driveway is fifteen hundred feet long, it was still to close to the house.

I know of a woman that almost lost a leg from a copperhead biting her as she walked out to feed her dog one night.....They had to cut alot of flesh off her leg and it looks horrible to this day.....

Dudes, if you live in the country or an area where it is a real possibility that a poisonous snake could bite someone....Wear shoes or boots when you go outside and look at the surroundings as you walk. Might save you the trouble of not getting bit.:)

Ever since I moved to Wayne County, I have been hearing that it is full of copperheads and rattlesnakes, but I haven't seen either this summer. As a matter of fact, I have only saw two, small black snakes in the area. I guess the summer heat and drought are keeping them hiding in the shade, thank goodness. My husband usually takes our little dog out after dark and I am always worried that he will wonder upon one. My husband doesn't pay any attention to his surroundings and he usually has on flip flops... I guess we have just been lucky.
