Everybody hates lawyers ... until they need one. ;)
However, I'm in no way saying that there isn't a special place in Hell for that woman.

Wow...sure there is some mental illness and It will be used in her favor..that is sad.
The worst part about it is that she will walk free. This trial has acquittal written all over it. Mark my words.

That would surprise me. Getting drunk is not a legitimate affirmative defense to murder. She can't rely on mental illness either b/c her comments to the investigating officers ("I guess my baby wouldn't have died if I hadn't gotten so drunk") indicates that she was aware of the difference b/t right (not causing harm to your infant) and wrong (putting your child in the microwave).
I'll predict that the prosecution gets in all of the evidence that the defense is trying to exclude, she's convicted, and she gets a life sentence (based primarily on the fact that her attorney will argue at the sentencing phase that she was so drunk she didn't realize what she was doing).

you're right getting drunk is no defense but neither is my new boy friend did not want me with kids so I locked them in the car and pushed it in the river how long did she spend. I myself think if you hurt or kill a child you should be killed the same way, you molest a child you should be done the same way everyday for the rest of your life that would put an end to a lot of this silly stuff

well, the molestation would almost be cut down if you did the old rubber band pig castration deal. And this woman should be dropped in a big pool of boiling water, right after being dropped in a bid tub of icy/hot.

I think the judge isn't going to allow a lot of the evidence to be used at trial because the police messed up on some things. I hope I am wrong because this is one of the worst crimes I have ever heard of. Even if she is sentenced they will appeal and their will be a big stink over the evidence and what was admissible in court.

Here's a link to the same story on the city's newspaper
http://www.daytondailynews.com/search/content/shared-gen/ap/National/Baby_Death_Microwave.html
It has moved to trial so if it's real then more stories about the trial should be coming up this fall.
We could email the newspaper to see if it's real.
