Yesterday I was trying any way I could to avoid being outside so I decieded to go kick tires at Gander Mountian. While I was in there I saw one of their Artic Cats was a deisel. I have never seen a deisel ATV before. It was one of the big 4x4's they have and it had a 700 sticker on it. Have any of you guys ever heard of this before? I have a hard time believing this this would have much power given its such a small engine. Maybe I am wrong but I can't imagine it having much more then 20 to 30 HP. Anyways I was just wondering if anyone had seen these before. HEATH

Haven't seen those but Kubota makes a UTV in a diesel.
Utility ATVs are more about torque than hp. I can almost bet you that unit has it in spades being a diesel.

it's all about the gear ratio and the torque. take those trucks with a cummings diesel. straight six cylinder. a straight 6 has more torque than a v-8. I have a 18 horse,3 cylinder 4x4 tractor that is diesel and it could pull a house if it could keep traction. has 9 forward speeds and 3 reverse. low is .63 mph. top is 12. talk about gear ratio.:D

Hwright,
According to the Artic Cat site that is an Italian made 2cyl liquid cooled Diesel. Bore is almost the same as the stroke. With that in mind that ride should pull whatever you hook it too.
There was no MSRP listed but I bet it is close to 8K.
It weight's almost 800lbs with liquids.
No thanks, I'll stick with my Kodiak. :D

$478.47 frt to Louisville.
That thing has good carrying capacities. 100lb in frt and 200lb in rear. It also has a long wheelbase. It won't turn real fast but would pull great and do better on steep hills. ;)

i bought a mule last year, and looked at the diesel, but thought better of it for hunting applications. i imagined myself way back in the woods with a diesel that wouldn't start:mad:.....i went with the gas.....:D
