I've put in small tracts up till mid-July if all i had in mind was for deer forage purpose...They germinate quickly and will stay green till the frost gets-em...Good Luck....

Raktrakr,
I've planted them the later part of august and had them come up
in plenty of time for the deer to feed on before the frost gets them.
Last year, after the soybeans on our farm had been harvested, there was a warm spell & it rained. Well, the soybeans that had been dropped by the combine during the harvest sprouted &, for a week or 10 days, until the next frost, we had a 20 acre food plot!

Remember, Soybean is a legume and needs a good ph. to grow well...acidic soil will cause poor growth...
