Since mind gun only uses the 23/4 and the 3". I will vote for the 3" seems like the 31/2 is over killed and kills the shoulder too.

I've had good luck with 3.5" hevi-shot in #4 on turkey.

I shoot federal flight control #5's in the 3 inch, that is all my mossberg500 will shoot. I get great patterns and results with this load!

You guys use a shotgun? What the heck. A well placed 22 lr over a cornpile always seems to work well.

3.5"
I use both 12ga. and 10ga., 3.5's.
They are pretty close, but the 10 patterns a bit better.

I shoot whatever my gun patterns best. That happens to be Winchester Supreme 3 inch 5s thru my scoped Mossberg 835. I use a Madd Maxx choke. The gun has a 24 inch ported barrel which makes it totally useless for anything but turkey hunting alone due to the noise. I keep the scope on it all the time and it stays in the safe except for turkeys. I have stone cold killed turkeys at 50 yards and finished one off at 63 yards after I blew a first shot (killed a tree). I use a Bushnell Bantam 1.5X4.5 scope that has a circle reticle and at 40 yards on 3 power the head and wattles on an average sized turkey completely fill the circle. It makes a great range finder. I want my turkeys at less than 40 yards but it is nice to know I can stretch it a little if needed.

First shell I used was the three inch Federal #5.. I haven't had or seen any reason to try something else..
