Bought One Used And It Had Two Clips With It. The Shells Hang Up As You Shoot. Its 10 Round But Even If I Put 8 Shells In It,they Still Hang. Went To Wal-mart Bought A New One A M597 Clip It Does The Same Thing With Only 6 Shells In It,so Are All The Clips For This Gun Junk Or Whats The Deal? Should Have Bought A Winchester Tube Feed.

I have never had a jam problem with my 597. Have you tried different ammo? Also check the bolt for dirt and look to see of the extractor is worn. I suspect it probably just needs a thorough cleaning.

I agree. Try a thorough cleaning and while it's apart, look everything over real good.

The Problem Is In The Clips, The Gun Wont Jam . But When It Dont Fire You Can Take The Clip Out And The Shells Arent Feed Up ,there Stuck Down Inside The Clip,if I Load Four Shells It Will Fire As Fast As You Can Pull The Trigger.

In that case, first off try to clean the clips. They may have dirt & gunk in them. If that doesn't work order some of the newer metal ones.

I would try to clean teh clip real well and maybe work the spring some. I have found a lot of plastic in the 597 and, when running cheap ammo through it, founfd that it would stovepipe a lot. Consequently, I got rid of it and went with what I feel is a better firearm.

597s are good guns..try cleaning the clips...I sell quite a few at work and no complaints at all.

he is right, it is not the gun. the clips are bad. i'm talking about the metal ones. i have cleaned them, oiled them, polished them, tried toying with the springs, done everything you could do to one and 3-4 is all it will shoot well period. im not talking about 1 clip, i have tried several. what should i expect for $100.00?

Take clip apart get an emery board or nailfile and smooth all grooves in the metal part of the clip They are made very sloppy and the grooves are rough
when the spring shifts side to side because you have fired a few rounds the rough grooves stop it from feeding correctly I have done this to about 15 or so clips and only had 2 to not work right after.
