Finally got back to the woods this morning after having to work all week. Saw 6 & bagged 4. Great morning 2b in the woods. Hunted in the Uniontown river bottoms. Skeeters weren't bad either. Hey! Even found some hickory nuts too!!! Here's a pic from this morning:

Sounds like you had a good morning. I've been meaning to get out there for the last week. I hope to sometime before season is out...

This morning was a bust. Saw only 2 & killed one. More humid in the woods than yesterday, a little breezy too. My overall impression after 3 hunts are there don't seem 2b very many squirrells out. But only 3 hunts are inconclusive. Killed no tiny ones, mostly boars. On the upside, finding some hickory nuts lying around here & there. The bottoms are very dry, which accounted for the low mosquito pestulance. Corn is twisting & only little over knee high. Oh well, 5 squacks in 3 hunts. I have done worse in the spring. Squirrells seem later in getting going too.An hour into my hunt yesterday morning b4 seeing the first one, well over an hour this morning. Bring on August.

Congrats on a fine lookin mess of squacks. Now that you mention it, last sat. when I took mine, I didn't see much going on early either. From Noon till almost 2 is when I saw the most activity, and it was hot too, but cloudy. What weapon did you use?

We don't find many grey squirrels in the bottoms around here. Mostly fox, unless they're traveling. Greys are usually in the hill woods. Anyway nice mess of squirrels, Tom.
