Anybody surprised?
The mainstream media had story after story about how sorry the Republicans were and how wasteful their earmark spending bills were before the last election. The dumbazz American public took it hook, line and anchor and voted the dems/Socialists into Congress. Now what we have is 1000X worse than we ever had before the Socialists took over but where are the media reports? On Fox News and conservative talk radio.
Within 5 years we patriots are going to be forced to take this country back by force or bend over and take it like the rest of the lemmings. I won't be bending over for any man (or female)!!!

Obey told his colleagues at a committee meeting just before Memorial Day. "As long as I'm in charge, I'm going to make doggone sure that we do everything possible to screen every project."
Well, I feel better. As long as we can be dogggone sure, then it must be upright and above board.

I don't think what we have here is 1000x worse, I think it's exactly the same. As far as Congress goes, it's always exactly the same. Politicians are all crooked liars, every one of 'em. Most of the folks on here take the stand of : (Democrats/Republicans) are screwing everything up, and if we could just get the (Republicans/Democrats) in office they would fix everything. Well that's wrong. Neither of them will fix anything, because they both have entirely too much power and money and their only worry is keeping it.

It has always been this way, some people call it "horsetrading". To get votes for a certain pet project they make deals with other members of Congress to vote on their own pet projects.
The only sure way to get around that is to give the president the "line item veto", every single president since Theodone Roosevelt has asked Congress for that. Governors of several different states have that veto and it does help in cutting down on the pork barrel spending.

Just another typical day in politics, only this time it is with a different king of the mountain. Same ole story, same ole BS, names changed to keep it interesting.

"Horsetrading" which is what the Brits call it, or "logrolling" which is what most US politicians call it, is the practice of voting for someones pet project, in the hopes of them voting for your pet project down the road.
Its been going on for years, and will probably always go on. Thats not what is occuring here.
What the Dems are doing, is hiding their porkbarrel projects in important bills, and not allowing them to be seen until the bill has passed.
Democrat from Penn, Murtha had a special done on CNN about one of his pet projects for a small town in Penn. It was $40 mill for a federal drug prevention center. Nobody could get answers on what it was for, why they needed it, or if it was even asked for. The bill had passed before anyone knew about the chuck of mystery money that had been spent. He refused to comment on it.
All Congress people spend too much money on pork, its the hiding of it that is drawing attention.
The Dems claimed that the Repubs were passing too much pork, and they were correct, and that they intended to change that. So they are hiding their pork in effort for it not to be seen and questioned. Its very dirty, and possible unlawful.
