Just watching him on the news, and apparently the Mexicans are STILL trying to get him back...
For those of you who don't know, he went into Mexico and captured a wanted serial rapist Andrew Luster (Max Factor heir)...
He admittedly bent the rules to bring this fugitive back to the US to stand trial. The Mexican Govt. was harboring this scum, and the guy (and his family) went down, got him, and put him in a court room..
Here's the story from A&E's website:
"On September 14, 2006, Dog, Leland and Tim Chapman were taken into custody by U.S. Marshals in connection with charges stemming from their 2003 arrest of convicted serial rapist, Andrew Luster.
They were all released September 15th, as the judge in Honolulu concluded they are not flight risks. While out on bail, they will be required to wear electronic monitoring devices until they return to court for extradition hearings to face trial in Mexico.
Andrew Luster, the famed heir to the Max Factor cosmetics fortune, was convicted of drugging and raping three women over a four year span. During his trial in 2003, Luster fled the country to Mexico.
In June 2003, Dog and his team tracked the fugitive Luster in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where he was living under an alias, and arrested him. As bounty hunting is illegal in Mexico, Dog, Tim and Leland were arrested by the Mexican authorities and Luster was handed over to the United States government by the Mexicans. He was subsequently found guilty and is currently serving a 124 year prison sentence."
Regardless of what you may think of his weird mullet, big chested wife, and odd personality, he did a great service by capturing this bastage. Please, take a minute and sign the petition on his website to help keep him from being extradited back to Mexico.. We cater enough to them already, don't you think?

Isn't that a kick in the arse. They let 12 million of their own leave and not raise a brow, then fight like hell to get one American and his two sidekicks back in their grasp.

For being as silly acting as Dog and his posse are, he seems like he is doing a good thing by tracking down bail-jumpers, and he strives to have a Christian attitude. I kind of like his show, and hope everything works out for him.
I don't care for Dog or his show. It wouldn't bother me if he was jailed in Mexico for the rest of his life as long as they lock up his wife with him.:D

Well I like his show, it seems he and his Crazy looking wife go a little overboard at times. But it's a TV Show and they got to add some drama to the show to make it interesting to watch... I hope the US doesn't send them back or anything like that. I'd tell Mexico that if they want the Dog, then they have to take back all 12 million Mexicans that have crossed into the USA illegally first.....I bet they won't ask for the Dog anymore....... :)

on a slightly different note.... Was speaking with some new mexico officers last week while in training and was told about a shooting that took place a few years back. Supposedly an officer was shot and killed and the killer escaped to mexico. He was picked up by the mexican goverment and the word was put out that the first person to show with $1500 got the guy. The swat team actually went to their personal accounts and took monet from atm's to get the prisoner before his family could get the money raised. I can't believe we would turn anyone over to them! I don't think we should cooperate at all with them!

Like I said before... Yea, he's weird.
He provides a good service to our country by keeping bail jumpers locked up. We don't need to let Mexico have him.

Dog is and idiot and a convicted felon. He claims he doesn't carry a gun because he doesn't like them. Truth is, he can't own one, so he carries a 5 gallon can of pepper spray.
He does a good thing by tracking down fugitives but it doesn't change the fact that he's an idiot. Then there is Beth...that's a whole other story there...

So if someone is a felon, then we write them off for life right? Just making sure, since my father is a felon... Better let him know.
He dosen't ever say HE dosen't carry.. His TEAM dosen't carry.
The bottom line is that he brings dangerous fugitives to justice. That's it. He dosen't deserve extradition.

I can't stand him or his wife or the show. My mom loves it though. He does a good thing but thinks he is the greatest thing on earth. I saw one show where his son tried to get the wrong guy...and the guy was HUGE...his son and him backed down quick...I'm just waiting for them to do it again and see what happens. I have seen where they kick peoples door down and bust in their house...thought that was against the law for bounty hunters?

Nope...I "write him off" because he's an idiot. He does say in interviews thta I've seen the HE does not carry a gun. I just don't like the fact that he gives the impression that he doesn't carry a gun because he doesn't agree with them when the truth is he can't.
A convicted murderer who spent 4 years in prison isn't going to get a whole lot of sympathy from me either.
I'm certainly not trying to offend anyone. I'm just pointing out that MAYBE Dog isn't as great as everybody says. But he's an upstanding christian...guess that's why they have to bleep out pieces of his show every week.
A bit of a hypocrite...
hyp·o·crite [hip-uh-krit] –noun
1. a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, esp. a person whose actions belie stated beliefs.
2. a person who feigns some desirable or publicly approved attitude, esp. one whose private life, opinions, or statements belie his or her public statements.
Oh yeah...please read the last portion of my first post...

The reason I think dog and his wife are idiots is because they act real tough like they are gonna go out and put a hurt on these fugatives. You think they are gonna rough them up and all that, next thing you know they are sitting in the back of a Suburban sharing a cigarette discussing God while having a good cry. It's like the white trash rent a cop version of "Cops".

i watched dog a couple of times and all i saw was a guy who knows how to sell bs so people can watch a semi interesting show.bounty hunters are like constables in warren county. a law allows em but they cause more problems then they solve when enforcing law most times. little or no training in law. u want to see your rights abused just allow these people free rein.kinda like cheaters for somthing dumb to watch. i will admit it is a step above jerry springer tho.

There is more leeway for a bounty hunter in Hawaii than other states as well. I don't like his show or him, don't like the tough guy persona that he puts on.
I saw one episode where they were looking for a guy and could not find him, they finally cornered this guy at an outdoor cafe. Dog runs up there with his cracker jack prize badge and ask him if he is "so and so". Guy is sitting with several friends and repsonds "No". Dog then asked for his I.D. What happens if the guy tells the "big, bad dog" NO? Ends up, the guy showed his I.D. and it was the wrong guy, nice job genius.
Another thing that bothers me. He is a bail bondsman. He is the reason that these idiots are out on the street anyway. If he wouldn't post their bail, they would be in jail where they belong! He is not doing the public a service, he is part of the problem.
All that being said, I don't want to see him go to prison in Mexico or anywhere else. I am glad he caught the Max Factor rapist, but just remember "Dog", you are not above the law just because you found a badge at the bottom of a box of flavored popcorn.

Art, they expect you to just smile and go back to your Hotel....Mexico is corrupt, has been corrupt and always will be corrupt. I had a friend who was jailed down in Cancun, the reason he was jailed was because he would not turn over his money to a policeman... What Dog and his family did was dangerous and dumb. If he was going to go in and covertly apprehend the guy he should have had the support of our Government. And then if the Mexican Government wanted to balk we could advise them to lay down or we would shut the gates and start sending mass busloads back to the bridges....For far to long we have turned the other cheek to Mexico and they have the feeling that they can say and do just about anything they want...The sleeping Bear (U.S.) should wake up....
