Yes for those going to ask...I'm still in the process of building an ar or 2. My girlfriend has been wanting a rifle(who knows why, she can't stand freezing temps when hunting with me) but she gets bored when my buddies and I go shooting, so she wants a rifle(she is paying)and I figured why not get something I can use too:D . I am looking at a Remington 700sps varmit...probably 22-250...anybody know anything or had experinces with the 17 fireball...as few guys stop by just to talk guns at work and they have them and like them alot. Just curious.

i have been trying to talk my wife into getting a custom 10/22 "for her". good for squirrel and targets, not much else i guess, but i think "she" would enjoy it.

Just guessing here but I suspect a varmint barrell will be too top heavy for her. I'd have her shoulder a few and see what she thinks. A 223 in non-heavy barrel would be a good gun if she is wanting to play with a centerfire.

I would go with AUK idea. Go with a tricked out 10-22, custom trigger and a GOOD scope.
She don't enjoy it? You have a great new toy!:D

My wife loves her 10/22. Its the only rifle she will sit and burn up over 100 rounds/ day with.

yeah I was wondering about the heavy barrel...but she can handle it. She carried my 325 wsw through the woods for a while and if she doesn't like the heavy barrel...she can just shoot one of my .22lr's...and I get the new toy!!:D
