The family and I are heading to LBL on June 6-11 to camp at Energy Lake CG. We're really looking forward to it. I go out there every year to camp and hunt but my daughters haven't been, so I'm anxious for them to be able to experience what LBL has to offer. If there's anybody from the forum going to be out there, your welcome to come by the camp site for supper. Maybe we can smoke a deer hind quarter or deep fry a turkey or something. We normally eat really good when we're camping out. We're going to go by and check out Hillmans Ferry CG while we're there. We've never camped there, so we're going to mark some of the better campsites on our map and try it next time.

hillmans is nice, got bball court, ball field, store, etc. really laid out nicely and the fishing isnt too horrible, they have 2 boat ramps also.

Ive been camping at the lake probably 25 times in the last 5 years, ive stayed at hillman 3 times. After that, i went backcountry camping out there and thats ALL i do now. I love it.

I got a great backwoods camping spot in area 10. Way out of the way and right next to the lake. No bathrooms, no electricity, no NOTHING! Not even cell phone service (last time I was there anyway), it is GREAT!

XI, that is the only way to stay! We used to backwoods down in 5 until my old man bought a big 26' foot trailer and he needs to be able to run his Microwave and AC...I mean how sad. ;)

I was happy to have a truck camper years ago, now I am spoiled by his tech advances.

When I take my wife and tent, we stay at Energy Lake...nice area I think.
