Someone recommend me a good 6mm deer bullet in the 80-95 grain range. I have a new 10-twist 6mmBR that may pull double duty this deer season if I could find a reasonably accurate 6mm hunting bullet in this range. Leggy likes the gun a lot and may take it out this year.

Try the Nosler Partition, I have loaded them in that weight range for our youngest son (now 12), plenty accurate and you KNOW you'll get an exit with a Partition.......
Some also like the Nosler BT in the 95 grain for deer....fwiw

No, the N-Partition is too much bullet for that caliber. You'll be better off on deer size game with something more likely to expanded at the lower vel. I'd go with a Billistic Tip Nosler and use it in a 6 X 47. It'll kill deer and antelopes good and dead.
The Barnes X opens easy and stays together. Draw back.... not cheap.

The soft lead front of the Partition will open easily even at low velocity, while the back half will stay together at any velocity, making them a great choice in everything including magnums to Single Shot Pistols.(i.e. Encore,Contender, Striker).....IMO
I agree for the 6mmBR the Ballistic Tip (or the Hornady SST) would be a great choice as well...

I love Nosler Partitions. They make an 85 gr. or used to that is a deer whacker. I have several old boxes of them from the sixties I wouldn't part with. They will hunt me 'til I die.

Auk,
I agree with Ace and kytrapper, I feel that the 85 grain Nosler Partition would be a good choice. Your 6BR with it's 1-10 twist should stabilize that weight bullet well and deliver velocities in the 3100 fps or better. My only experience with a 6BR has been in 1-14 twist barrels but the BR case is very efficent and most rifles in that caliber are amazingly accurate. Good luck to you and Leggy with your bullet choice....

Yep 85 grain TSX is a great bullet and has been very accurate (well under 3/4" in one and 1/2" in the other) in the two .243's I've used it in. Cost wise when you step up to premium be it an NP or a TSX (or several others) I just figure it's the cost of doing business better.

Thanks to all. The Noslers and Barnes are on the list. I'd bet it would shoot Swift Sciroccos real good too, their advertising says they are designed to expand at low velocities, but the doggone things are too pricy to play with very much.
