I was wondering if i was the only one that was seeing less turkeys this year than normally, the bioligist said there was supposed to be more but around here in the fall you see only a few young ones with each hen and i think it is catching up with us thats why i think we didnt see as many birds this year as we normally do:(
I was wondering how many other people have been seeing the same thing.

i saw tons this year!! we took 6 good toms off our property this spring and could have taken several more but passed on them! i counted over 250 in one field last fall! they were there every day for 10 or 11 days straight and i go to set up with my buddy to take a couple with our bows last fall and we see a coyote in the field where they usually feed and didnt see them again all fall!! counted 89 in a field this spring a week or two before the cold snap hit had 11 longbeards in the group that had my heart pounding watching them!! I think we have a few two many acorns dont last too long around here the deer dont get to many anymore!!

I think I saw a slight increase before season, but it was scarce during season. However, I don't think that we have less birds, just more weary three year old birds.

I saw mostly male turkeys the whole season. The only hens I saw I busted off their nests. Every nest was full (12-16 eggs) by April 15th, at least where I was. I probably saw fewer turkeys, but I didn't care because they were mostly males.

I didn't notice any decrease. The farm i hunted hard this year only gets about two visits from me every year, but say at least 10 turkeys every time i went, which is a lot more than i am use to on this farm.

I saw several large flocks in the fall but this spring I saw and heard very little.
Never could get one to commit. KY, was two weeks late and the weather didn't help either.

I seen several more mature birds this year than years past. Most of the hunters I have talked too had a sub-par year though.

I saw several hens and toms and If i had just had a little luck to go along with it I would have tag out. I do believe they were not that many 2 year olds this year so that is way we had the season that we did plus thw weather did not help either.

With a season with low totals like this year, it only means next year will probably be a record setting year.
