I heard that on a radio station out of Paducah this morning.
One of the morning show guys has a slight animal rights lean to him and the girl that does the news is just blatantly over the top and a HSUS type person.
Of course they sort of spun this one as animal cruelty this morning.
I LOL when the one DJ read:
And landowners are allowed to shoot a trespassing dog if that dog is harassing livestock.
and made some quip as to how bizarre and unfortunate it was that Idaho would have a law like that. I wanted to call in and tell him he needs to actually read up on laws here at home and get out past the glow of street lights from time to time before he makes any more of an idiot out of himself. The news girl was beside herself because there was a little spray paint on the dog.

I'm just wondering why in the hell the dog owner wasn't citing for letting his dog run around unleashed.
The public doesn't need laws that are not enforced. Either they should rescind the laws or enforce them.

Had a yellow lab come up to the neighbor's house when I was in high school with a word spray painted on the side of it that started with "F". Turned out to be a 10 year old boy that lived across the street. He had built a pen in the woods behind his house where he was keeping a stray pit bull that he found and was feeding it LIVE cats and small dogs. Some he was torturing before he threw them in there. Dad found the pen and shot the pit when he figured out what had been happening.
He had a talk with the boy's mom (no dad arround) and they took him to a specialist in Louisville. The doc refused to see the kid again because he didn't want to get mixed up with a future serial killer. He still lives in Providence....

We've talked about it before, but cruelty to animals, playing with fire, and peeing in the bed are the three signs of a future Jeffrey Dahmer. But back to the topic at hand...
I don't see how a little spray paint is cruel. My wife colors her mane all the time, so I don't think a little color on a dog's coat is going to hurt. The dog was blissfully ignorant of his signage, I'm sure.
We had a local character that would whitewash his mules for parades and such. Don't know what the material was, but them mules were so white they'd blind you.

Im sure the dog prefered the paint to a bullet.....
That's funny. I think I would have paint "**** YOU!" on the dog.:D
