How is this rain causing the birds to react. I can't get in the woods until tommorrow and was wondering if anyone hunted this morning and what did they here.

But we all know birds are different in different areas, GOOD LUCK in the morning.

never heard a gobble this morning, and the rain had also let up by hunting time. I did hear some hens cackle and fly down, but now gobbles.

I am going in the morning I just hope that I have some luck. I think I know where there are a couple of toms roosting so even if I don't here them maybe I'll get lucky.

We heard a bird gobble once as we were setting the blind up this morning. It started raining and we never heard another peep. We sat till 11AM. Haven't decided if I'll go back out this evening or not. They haven't been gobbling much here the last few days. Tom

My uncle hunted our farm in Fleming Co. this morning, he said he heard 1 maybe 2 gobbles. It was raining so he hunted out of a pop up blind saw a couple hens just after first light, then a single jake later in the morning.

Wasn't hunting, but I saw 3 toms and a hen in one field, and one lone tom in another. The 3 toms never strutted and were all milling about and feeding. The hen ended up walking away by herself.
The birds will hit the fields in the rain. They may not gobble, but they'll still respond. If I was still hunting in the rain, I'd be trying field setups with decoys (2 hens and a jake), and I'd be calling just loud enough to reach the birds and aggressive enough for them to think that there was still a hot hen still running about.

Just got in and I am soaked to say the least. Not one gobble, saw 2 playing in a puddle about 400 yards, but they weren't interested in anything, but getting across the road to another farm  . Better luck tomorrow, I hope. Worst day of the year for me.

Took a buddy to try and get him one. He was late and I heard 2 across the road from my house (posted property) hammering away while I waited on him. We got to the farm we were hunting about 8 and heard 2 or 3 gobbles way off and that was it. We busted a hen on the way in and saw a Tom on the way back out. Don't know if he saw us set up or didn't like my calling but he left out with out coming in.

I heard 4 differnet birds gobble on the roost, and I saw 1 tom and 2 jakes. After they flew down, not one peep. The toms were also more interested in preening each other and acting gay than anything else. I saw only 1 hen; I suppose they are sticking close to the nest now.

I heard four birds gobble once and only once at daybreak or shortly after. Located some in a field while it was raining and brought one home. Bird and I both were soaked.
