This past tuesday I left work early to prepare for a business flight to Sacramento. Before I left, my son, age 15, got off the bus and came in the house with a huge knot and cut in the center of his forehead and informed me that he had been shot by a pellet gun.
I immediately called the school, bus compound and police and they got to work on the problem. Turns out there were 4 kids in all that were struck by the individual with the gun and the school system wasted no time in making an arrest and prosecuting. As of today the kid has plead guilty to charges of felony possession of a weapon on school property and wanton endangerment. They are holding on to a felony assault charge. He has been removed from school and will be on home incarceration for 1 year after he is released from jail.
My hat is off to the school system for very quickly taking care of this situation. I was afraid they would attempt to brush it under the rug.
I am thankful he still has both eyes....
