my nieghbor said he saw a hen behind his house this afternoon that already had some poults with her.is'nt it abit early for them?

I would think that it is a little early for poults, but I guess anything is possible! Maybe it was a hen followed by some close quail friends! :eek: :D

Early for sure, but by no means unheard of.

not surprising at all. think about the mild winter we had until april or so.
the thing that has shocked me is when i see poults in august and september.

I heard the same report of poults with a hen in southern Indiana this week.

ma nature doesn't have a calender! Anything is possible. I saw a picture of a spotted fawn a few weeks ago that had been taken recently. By the size of the fawn it woulda been dropped mid winter!
