powder coating

does anyone know if a barrel would be damaged if it were powder coated?? parts are heated to 375*-400* for about 20 minutes. i was thinking of having this done to a 10/22 bull barrel. thanks.

I don't think it will hurt the heat treat properties as I think it would have to be around 600 degrees to do that but, it might well be hot enough to warp the barrel. Why not Duracoat or some of the other good coatings instead of powdercoat. I can Duracoat it. If interested P.M. me.
