What is a trophy turkey???

I am curious as to what is considered a "trophy" turkey? I know that some will say any turkey you call in, etc. etc. I agree with this, but I am looking for the actual number if there is one.

I know the conversion charts that you use, but I have been unable to find out a magic number that a turkey has to score to be considered a trophy.

I killed a bird this morning that added up to 64.375 on the NWTF scale this morning. Two years ago my dad killed one that hit 74 on this same chart. Trying to figure out if these are considered "big" turkeys

your dads qualifies for trophy status according to NWTF.IMO any mature bird is a trophy.I think 70 and up is a tremendous bird in 15 years of hunting turkeys I have a 74 and a 76 but neither compare to that 50 point bird that was my first. IMO trophy has a very broad definition.

ANy turkey is a trophy in my book. Its the record keeping that destroys the meaning of the hunt in the first place.

Any turkey you feel proud of and had a good time taking it is a trophy to me. Scores aren't what hunting is all about.

I don't really like the scoring process for turkeys because weight can be affected by terrain and available food. A 2 year old bird can have as long of a beard as a 5 year old. IMO the true sign of a trophy gobbler is on his legs!

It is my belief that the score of a turkey hunt can not be calculated because it is the adversities you over come such as a henned up bird or bad positioning that count. A difficult hunt with a bird at the end of the day is much more rewarding to me than a 20 minute kill off the roost. But a paintbrush and a huge set of hooks is nice too!

Its all up to you. dont let anyone tell you whats a trophy or not. I believe my bird is a trophy. I spent all day hunting im sure I will get sick because I sat out in the rain all day then crawled just to get this bird.
