I decided not to hunt this morning. But i got a break in the weather and i was out the door. I did see one but he was about 150 yards away and didnt pay any attention to me. I was just wondering if yall had any tatics that you like to employ when hunting the afternoons/eveings?

Just don't expect them to gobble all the time like they do in the morning. More often than not birds will come in silent in my experience. Just stay put;)

From my experience its exactly like Xi bowhunter said dont exspect much from a gobbler all the time some times you get lucky in the afternoons and they'll be alone after the hens leave'em and you'll get him but i had a bird today at 10:30 do exactly what your story is . but i just kept settin there and i got one at 12:00. I killed my biggest bird at 5:00 in the evening last year. But just stay at it cause you cant kill'em settin at home buddie.

Good luck.

I have killed several birds from 12:00 on. Generally I wait at a good vantage point and listen. You won't hear many gobbles but if you do hear one generally you can call the bird in.

Set up where you've heard roost gobbling and stay until end of legal light. A couple of my better birds have been shot with about 10 minutes of legal time left.
