Thank goodness for pop up blinds. Woke up about 5:10 to sounds of rain hitting my windows. Decided to go anyway . Set up in the middle of a cattle field that I've seen turekys strutting and eating in hay piles. Set out my decoys. First birds showed around 6:50. More birds started showing up. Still raining good. No Strutting. No gobbling. They worked away from my decoy set up. I started some heavy purring and putting.Birds strted working my way. Put the binoculers on several birds in my vicinity. Found one with at least a six inch beard. He came closer. Stuck my barrel out of the blind. Let the bird have it.:D I stepped it off at 53 yards. Shoulder still sore from those 3 1/2 inch heavey loads # 5. I'm wearing hearing protection from now on. My ears are still ringing. Them bad boys will sure reach and touch them. Out of the field by 7:30 and at Waffle House at 8:00. Man I love it when a plan comes together. Good luck and stay dry to everyone else.

Had a hen with my decoys for 2 hours this morning but thats all I saw. Took my bow instead of my shotgun, trying for my first bow bird. Going to go back this afternoon and hopefully have better luck.

Congrats on the bird! I took my 8 year old son this morning and was glad to be in a blind as well!! A tough day for him to have his first turkey hunt but he wasn't about to sleep in!

I am going to have to do some water-proofing to my blind:mad: But it kept me dry for the most part.
