I got my turkey camo out earlier this week and noticed it was fading. I don't have any high priced camo, so this may be the reason it fades so easily.

Anyone have any tips on keeping camo from fading? Is the more expensive camo more resistant to fading? If so I may invest in some instead of buying a whole new outfit every year or so.

It took a little digging, but I found a thread that I had started some time back about the same thing. I hope this helps.

I've Had Pretty Good Luck With The Camo Guard From Wal-mart. When You Wash Your Camo, Turn You Camo Inside Out. I Always Hang My Camo Up To Dry, The Clothes Dryer Is Pretty Hard On It. Good Luck This Weekend!!

Just don't wash it. Of course, this only goes so far. . .

When I get new camo, I put it in the washing machine with cold water. Add 1 cup of vinegar. Let set for 1 hour. Start the machine and let it run through the wash and rinse cycle. Do not add detergent or put in the dryer, EVER. This will set the dye and keep it from fading.

I now only run my camo through the washer on the rinse cycle and then hang it up to dry. Detergent is hard on the camo colors.
