9:00-11:00 seems to be good to me...if things don't happen real early....1:00-3:30 seems to be pretty good also...every bird has his day though

Anytime it is legal. :D However, I would say most for me have fallen to lead poisoning around the 9am time frame, then again around noon. Of course, first thing in the morning is always a good time. The last couple I have taken on opening day have come around noonish. It was very hot last year around noon when I finally got him to commit to the ole smoke pole.

I've probably killed a dozen or so first thing, right off the roost (always love those) but mid-morning on into the afternoon hours have been the most productive for me, killing wise. I'd say most of my birds have come from 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m.

I have taken most between flydown and 9:00, one between 10:00 and 11:00 and two between 12:00 and 1:00. All my past turkey hunting has been in Missouri, so I have never hunted after 1:00.

Past three years I have been back home with the turkey dressed by 8:30AM I have never hunted in the afternoon. Never felt I had to.
I love to roost turkeys the previous afternoon. Setup within a couple hundred yards next AM and raise all kind of heck with three calls at first break of day. Works for me and has for close to 30 years. Have found turkeys to be very curious about a good turkey fight early in the day. Hens and Toms will come a running. I use three decoys. One on the ground with a jake standing over it. Hen posed close by. Will be using Mobile Bob for the first time this year with a mashed jake decoy for my ground victim. Good luck to all.

i have killed more from 2 pm till fly up and then i wait and i roost one for the morning and then im waiting the next morn. i normally hunt about all day just come in for lunch and go out and hunt unless luck is on my side:D then i will go with my dad and call for him if he aint already killed that day or if he aint tagged out so i enjoy being out there all day just be sure to take plenty of water especially on those warm days i know last year i had to leave henned up birds that i would have probebly seen if i would have just stayed but i was dried up so from now on i pack a water bottle, but probebly my favorite are those morning birds when they fly down put on a good show and then i am walking out 20+ pounds heavyer hopefully but and day turkey hunting beats a day at work:D
