I really didn't like the departed at all. I thought it was weak. However, Blood Diamond was KILLER. That's a good movie for sure. Sad, but good.

Terry's top ten:
The Godfather
Patton
A Bronx Tale*
Blazing Saddles
The Shawshank Redemption
Saturday Night Fever**
Hoosiers
The Quiet Man
It's a Wonderful Life
Ocean's Eleven (the original sixties version)***
Notes:
* If you have a son over the age of twelve or 13, watch A Bronx Tale with him. It is an extremely moving film that is a struggle between good and evil in which good wins. The third line of the movie and the second to last line in the movie is "There is nothing sadder than wasted talent". The delivery of this message is something every boy should see and have explained to him by dear old dad.
** I hate disco. If you get beyond polyester and discos, this is a movie of condemnation and salvation. In the end it is a very hopeful movie. Watch it without prejudice towards the era, the dress, the music and the dance. Watch it as a coming of age and a rising up film. You'll have a very different opinion of it.
*** A pretty weak film, but any time you have Frank, Dean, Sammy, Joey Bishop and the entire rat pack being the rat pack, it's a good thing.
