Is it true that if you own land that you can purchase "farm" hunting tags? I heard it from a buddy of mine and he said that they were much cheaper than regular tags.

It's in the hunting guide. If you are hunting on land that you own, then you fall under being license exempt to that piece of property. You make your own hunting log, and everything else still applies (log game, check game, season limits, and weapons). You still have to follow all of the regs.

You can also just go to Walmart. They will just give you a large game tag. Even if you own your own land, you must have that tag for confirmation #s etc.

Page 8 of your turkey hunting manual; Ky residents, their spouses and dependent children hunting on their own property, tentants, their spouses and children hunting on farmlands where they reside and work, Ky residents on military furlough of more than 3 days. You buy unless you live on that property.

Pays for what ?? Do you mean he is part owner of the farm ? All you have to do is read the regulation book and the answer is there for all to see.
