Okay,
Anyone own a Cubcadet UTV? I checked one out the other day and look pretty good...little heavier than Rhino or Ranger, but it had a 3 cylinder CAT diesel.

i don't have one but i really like the looks of em. that cat diesel really is the ticket to me.
They are fine, but slow and ride rough.

I've been looking at those Jap. Mini-trucks. I know a couple of guys that own them and they are really impressed. Especially since they're about half the price of most other UTV's.

Those are really cool but they look painfully small in the drivers area and I bet they are a nightmare to find parts for and get work done to.

Lyman Kubota makes a diesel UTV. They can be factory outfitted with air, heat, CD, doors, any and all creature comforts. Might cost a bit more but they come with a great warranty and any Kubota dealer can work on it.
I would be careful buying something from acrossed the pond. If I'm not mistaken I think they have to be emmisions tested before they can be licensed ? That might be why they are cheap in price ? If you don't license it then I guess it doesn't matter.

art,
I have been looking pretty seriously at these for the last few months. I am 6' 2" 300+ pounds and can sit in one pretty well, more leg room than a Gator or Mule... as for parts, all the web sights claim they are easy to get from any 4 wheeler mechanic, remains to be seen though;) I think I am going to get a plain base model and "pimp it out" :D myself to save a little money
here is a link to what I am going for as far as finished looks

That site is sweet...I bet you can set one up yourself for half. They have only painted it, put ATV tires on and added a lift...which on ebay are less than $200. Now that I have performed a search...there are a ton of places that sell them and I bet parts are more common. Not around town, but easily ordered via ebay. They look pretty neat..:D

Wow, the more I look at those things the more daddy like. It's just too bad because I just bought a new ATV back around Christmas. I am doing my best to talk my buddy into buying one for his farm though.:D

Gatortrax has been selling them for a couple years. I remember stumbling arcoss them along time ago. They are hard to get parts for. I talked to a guy that had one. It was actually his dads and when his dad passed away, it was passed to him. He was selling it because he said it was a pain to mess with. I know people that have kawasucky mules, yamaha rhinos, and the Kubota diesels. The guy that has the Kubota had a rhino, and got rid of it for a Kubota. They aren't the fastest of course(max around 23mph), but on a farm they are king! Can pull and haul just about anything a hunter can think of, come standard with many things that are extra on the Rhino. Any the price is better too! They started making the Kubotas in camo too, that is the one I will be getting when I get one.

i bought the mule last year, and am pleased with it. it has a roll cage and seat belts, the best thing for my two young sons.....i use it for hunting, fishing and everything else. its not fast, but goes where i need it to go and brings me back. i will buy the cab enclosure before next hunting season...gets a bit chilly ripping across the farm at 23 mph....:D

I bought a Rhino in January and have been very pleased with it. I went with it over Cub and Ranger because of the smaller size. Heard the Cub with Cat diesel was hard to beat for farm use.

Yeah, the cub is a little heavier.....I am looking seriously into one of those mini trucks. I have seen them priced well below a ranger and rhino fully tricked out....may have to see and drive on first.

they are cool, but they aren't as great as you would think compared to the utvs. I have talked to owners. They can be really expensive to fix and hard to get some parts. Good luck in whatever you get:D

Okay...check out this new Polaris. I think it has everything everyones been complaining about...but It has no room in the bed. They cannot say it was developed for hunters because at only a 300lb rating and enough room to haul a few rabbits...I will not buy it. I am disappointed...they may as well put another seat in a 1990 Honda Pilot:(

I saw one of those pimped out Suzuki mini trucks for sale just this weekend. Camo with aluminum wheels and some wicked looking tire tread.
Pretty sweet looking unit.
I think that RZR was designed to appeal primarily to sport ATV riders, not people that want to use it for a utility vehicle.

It was at someone's house that I passed during my Easter Sunday travels. Somewhere between Draffenville and Reidland I believe.
No idea on the price. It may have been on the sign that was in the window but I didn't stop to look at it.
I've seen them for sale from time to time around Murray too. I think there are a handfull of folks around that buy them and do the conversions. I saw one last year that had an erectable bed mounted deer stand on it.
