Well, first off it was colder than the ex-wife's thighs, BUT it was a good weekend. The contractor did an execllent job on putting the road in on our property. It was very steep coming in but this guy knew what he was doing. I will post up pics soon but it is hard to describe how difficult it was due to the terrain. I can't say enough about how pleased I am.
Now comes the cleanup. I've got a lot of chainsaw work to do over the next year but at least we will have a bunch of fire wood later.

I'm back at the hotel room in BG, gonna take a nice hot shower, grab a beer, and scratch whatever itches!

boy what a plan:D no jokes congrats on the road. nothing like getting some work done of that sort. seems like improving land brings a lot of enjoyment, well atleast to me. also brings on a lot of high dollar bills but oh well that's life.

Here is a pic of the dozer working on the top of the road. I sort of makes a big S across the property to make it easier to navigate during bad weather. I'm guessing it is probably about 900 or so feet long total. Now I've got to get busy and cut up all those downed trees. Should have fire wood for years!

Hope you used some #3's for a base.
Be sure to think about water flow and put plenty of culverts in.

We used some large gravel for the base, can't remember what size, then put some dense grade on top. We also put two culverts in and will watch how it drains. I told the contractor that we'd probably have him come back at a later date if we needed any modifications made.
