We buried my grandmother today. She was a wonderful lady that found plenty of love for a large family. My grandfather and her were a great team. He passed on several years ago.
My grandfather ran a Fox hunting pen (about 400 acres) on the Greenup and Lewis County line for many years. If none of you know anything about fox hunting it would have been a trip for you. It was all about family, friends, and fox hounds.
There were no worry about losing their prize hounds in the fences so they came from all over the eastern US to run those foxes. My grandma was the camp cook. She was there by my grandfather faithfully for years in the fox hunting and his other business. Naturally the grandchildren use to get in on all the fun. Oh the memories we all share.
My advise, don't let an opportunity pass by without sharing an opportunity to spend time with your grandparents or other loved ones. Those precious ones soon become precious memories.

Excellent advice. I've lost all my grandparents and not a day goes by that I don't wish I'd spent more time with them. I'm sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss and know the adventure of Fox hunting. My Great Grandfather used to Hunt Fox's at night with a whole Pack of Fox Hounds. Really a sound you'll never forget hearing those Fox Hounds on the trail....:)

i am deeply sorry for your loss,
i buried my granny last year we were the best of freinds... she was in great health untill she reached 91 and i knew she would make the 100yr. mark, but she had a small stroke at 92 and kept having them for a year..
i took care of her doing ..cooking, cleaning and general care, like she did for me when i was young.....
i am proud i could take care of her as she did for me...
you give great advice to those that still have there grandparents...
my prayers to your family..and i admire your tribute to your granny......

She sounds like a special lady, just like my granny. My granny taught me about cooking and gardening and skinning groundhogs and even a few off-color jokes.
Losing a person like your granny is always hard, but you should celebrate her life and the many memories, and cherish those things every day.

Sorry about Granny passing. My uncle used to run a fox club around the Ashland area for years, but he passed on a few years ago. Yes, if you love someone, let them know. It may not matter much to them, they may not have the same love for you, but at least you know you loved them.
