Will Cumberland be a hot spot this year due to the water level? I assume that after this year, the fishing will not be as good, but I've heard opinions that the first year of the draw down will be great.

The fish will just move to deeper cover, you should go around the lake to different spots while the water is down and find all the good cover and take a few pictures and mark the spots on a gps and when the water comes back up fish all the cover you have found.they will be back to it some day.

It should really help the fishing in the future. When the weeds and bushes grow back on the exposed bank and then they fill the lake again, there will be a lot of new cover full of nutrients and oxygen. It should give it a 2-3 year burst of good fishing.

in the short term it should make for some easier bank fishing as well. With the water down there should be some nice clean bank to set up on

Less water= More concentrated fish. During a drought the licking river basically turns into "chug holes", all the fish congregate together.Wading a hole once that was waist high, where normally it's well over my head, caught 5 fish in five casts under the same log casting the very same place. 3 large crappie, 2 keeper sauger.
Cumberland, imo, should be somewhat similar. Should be alot easier finding them with your electronics also.

They may be closer together, but there is still a LOT of water in the lake. It ain't going to be like fish in a barrel.

I have some friends that have a house down there and they told me the fishing has gone from bad to worse. Told me it wasnt worth an hour trip for me to get there.
