Will this cold weather shut the fish down? I am planning on fishing with a friend tomorrow, at either Lake Nolin or lake Malone. I know it will be COLD, but he really wants to go because he has a day off, and i am ALWAYS up for a day of fishing. What is your take on the weather? Just how much do you think the water temp will drop by tomorrow?

Xi I wouldn't say shut down but I'd say slow down. That's my guess. It is hard to turn them clear off after they get started. Slow down and downsize.

I agree, I suspect the cold front is going to slow things down for a few days and the water temps to drop some.

I expect they will move back out to the first drop or nearby deeper water around cover. Fish tight to cover and slow down.

We decidie to fish Nolin lake because of all the deep water wood structure. i'm planning on fishing a small jig-n-pig combo very slowly. hopefully it will produce.

You won't catch many crappies during a cold front. In a day or two, they'll work back up for an hour or so a day during the warm periods.

Try a 5 inch grub on a 1/8 jighead. If there are any mainlake rocky points or roadbeds, I'll bet you wont be disappointed.:)

Went to Lock 2 on the Ky. river today, fished for 3 hours and never got a bite. I knew it would be slow but I figured I would maybe catch a few. Oh well propably going to go to T-Ville tommorrow and try the crappie again. I was going to go down to the Cumberland tailwaters and try the trout but it looks like they are generating alot and I did'nt want to drive down by myself.

We are going to try the bass out at Nolin tommrow, but if they aren't biting we will switch to crappie. Hopefully something will bite:)

Fished T-Ville for crappie today, really slow caught 3 total in about 4 hours, all were about 11 inches but not enough for a meal so I threw them back. It snowed on and off all day and here at home the roofs and porches are covered, this is rediculous:mad:

If it don't turn around pretty soon it will be rough on us catching anything for a few days.

took 13+ pounds to win renegade tourny on Green River Lake today, 10+ to place second, so someone got on some fish somehow. two buddies fished the tourny and never caught a keeper today. running a boat at 65 mph this morning when it was in the 20's was pretty rough they said.

Apparently the big lakes are still pretty hot. My neighbor won some tounament up by the dam today. He said they burned about 1/4 gallon of gas just fishing arround the docks and weighed over 20 lbs.

Sorry:o, here is the report:

We did find some fish at Nolin before the winds got up to over 30mph gusts! The water temp was still around 60 degrees, but the fish had moved back onto main lake points and steep rock walls on the main lake. We had a lot better luck than I anticipated, boating 8 fish in 2 1/2 hours of fishing. All the fish were caught off a chrome/blue rat-l-trap, black/blue jig, and rapala x-raps. The wind got to blowing so bad we had to call it quits, but i wish we could have stayed out there. I can't wait to go back, I really enjoy fishing lake nolin:)

Multi, we put in at Moutardier, and fished every rock wall and main lake point we could find. I can't wait to fish it again.
