Anybody done any white bass fishing this week?

I went last Sunday to the KY river at high bridge, we caught probably 30 all day, the biggest was 13". A few smaller females including the biggest but most were males. We also ended up with 6 smallies, biggest was 15". 5 largemouths, a crappie and a sauger. I was wondering if this rain has helped or hurt them. Looked like the river was about 2 feet high. It's probably higher now. I'm planning on heading out this Sunday rain or shine. Thanks.

At Lock #1 the river is over the locks and almost even at Lock #2, they have been catching quite a few sauger and whites at Lock #2, going to give them a try tommorow.

I went yesterday I went to lock seven by High Bridge. I only caught 1 white bass and one spotted. I didn't stay but 30 minutes due to the water was rough and it was difficult to keep the boat in the right spot.

I don't think they are there in force yet. Last year I caught 40 in 30 minutes. But that was in late April.

What locks are these you are talking about?

KY River has a series of locks to dam the water so it's deeper. I believe that there are 12 locks on the KY river and only the first 4 or so are operational.

Lock 7 that I was talking about is close to Wilmore.

Scsims, hey, what kind of boat do you have? I'm usually down there at least one day on the weekend and a couple afternoons a week. I almost always cross in a canoe and fish by the power plant.

Last Sunday report: Fished lock 7, didn't cross because I thought the water would be high, it was but not enough to stop crossing. I went by myself and ended up lighting them up. Used half pound of minnows by myself. Caught 30-40 crappie, most hand sized but one was 2 lb 5 oz, 15 inches. The other was 1 lb 8 oz. The rest were whites, got my limit, all but one were male. Probably caught 100 whites between 6:00 and dark. They aren't running real strong just yet.

I went back to lock 7 Tuesday. afternoon, didn't do any good at all. Caught 4 fish between two of us. Two ky bass and two small whites. I figured the big whites are staging in the faster water as we were on the side with access and I didn't bring the canoe. With this cold rain and weather they'll be back in the deep water for a while so I'll take a few days off.
Have a good one.

These were caught on Cave Run this past weekend.

I have a Bass Tracker PT185 with a 90hp Mercury. I usaully put in at Cummins Ferry because it's close to my house. I probably could have done a little better but I had a little fisherman with me that was getting board. But like you said I was there on Teusday and it's I didn't have any luck either.

I takes me about 18-20 minutes to get to the lock from the ramp. I have put in closer before by Hwy 68 but that ramp is long steep and narrow.
