Mine would have to be my diawa viento reel/Quantum KVD 7' hvy worm rod(fiberglass). I love my viento, that twitchin bar comes in handy for more than just twitchin your bait. Its my favorite all around combo. Of course it's got some 14lb stren mono on it...I've been thinking about trying some of the newer braids for the summer. Any body know of some good braids that act like a mono?

I don't know of any "braids" that act like mono, but I'd try some Berkley Fireline if I were going to try a super line. They are awesome for jigging and Super Flukes.

My favorite combo is a cork/foam handled IM-7 Abu Garcia Rod (yes Rod, from the early 90's) and a Quantum Energy E-2 with 14# Fireline.

No braid is going to act like mono, as they're totally different materials designed for different applications. But, if you're wanting the advantages of braid in a fairly easy-handling line, I'd look at FireLine Crystal. It's a little smoother than regular FireLine, especially once it's "broken in" a little bit. Awesome line.

Fireline is great, as far as combo I'll take my Team Diawa X 103 on a Loomis GLX 7'0 or GL3 844.

Give me a cheap Akuno spinning reel with the proper two piece Johnny Morris spinning rod and Im happy......Ive got several high dollar bait casting reels and Ive found that a spinning reel is alot easier to fish especially with light line..........

Daiwa Pro-Lite 100, 1982 vintage, on a Berkley graphite. Followed closely by a 1972 Ambassadeur 5000 on a heavy 6 ft. fiberglass Lew's. With a big spinnerbait it casts like a sniper rifle.

My favorite spinning reel was a Garcia 408 on a mystery brand graphite 1 piece 5.5 ft rod. This one fell victim to a 3 year old but it sure wore a bunch of smallmouth out in its time.

My favorite is the one in my hand! Seriously, I guess my favorite would have to be my big Penn saltwater rig, because when I am using that rod I am on vacation and having a good time catching some monster fish.

An old Ryobi V-Mag 4 that I bought second hand for 20 bucks back in the mid 80's. If I ever wear that sucker out I'll cry.
