My Father has had this bait for years, and I just saw where YUM baits has started making them again. I thought it was a pretty interesting bait, but I have no idea if a fish would bite it or not. I'm sure they would, and I think I will try to find out:)

If I'm not mistaken, that was one of those Bill Dance proprietary lures.

Called Dance's eel I believe.

Looks like a big tadpole to me.

Looks like it needs another hook or two?

Naw, the whole bait is made of some rubber material. The hook is attached to the only hard thing on the bait, the lip and whatever is inside the head.

It's hillarious how many times Ol' Bill has claimed "The last lure you'll ever need", and yet they just keep coming and coming...

This is funny!!!

I found one last year that some one had tied onto a limb line. Never had seen something like that before that time.

That is in fact a Dance's Eel. Never really caught on with fishermen the first time around. YUM has a new version (called the Dancin' Eel if I'm not mistaken). They've got a pretty good action to them. Just seemed a little too gimmicky for my tastes.

I've got a few old Dance's Eel as well as Dance's Craw. Look that bad boy up. It looks like a lobster.

I saw a bunch of new Dance's Eel at Dick's the other day. I'm surprised they are out again.

Xi - I used to fish with that lure all the time, but I replaced the treble hook with a single weedless hook and put a worm weight on the line and flipped it in holes in the weed matts. It reacts alot like a large bullfrog tadpole. Alot of times a tadpole will sit on weeds just below the surface of the water. As you approach them, they dive down quick. The lure copied that really well (the diving part) and I used to catch alot of fish that way. It eventually wore out, and I never bothered to fish one again. But it worked as goods as a jig & pig or creature bait.
