Me and my dad went to Malone today to try the boat out after some work he had done to it. We thought we might try and catch a bass while we were there. Bad idea:mad: I have been fishing there for going on 15 years and I have never seen that many boats. I had to park at the turn in at the state dock and we got there at 8:00. I was later told by another fisherman that there were 2 tournaments going on, I'm all fer'em but I wish they had a web site or phone number for each lake so pleasure fishermen could find out how many tournaments if any was going on. If I had known there were 2 tournaments at Malone we would have tried crappie or went to the river or something. I used to fish alot of tournaments myself so I understand the attraction but Malone is just not that big. Anyway I'm tired of venting:) :) The new will wear off soon just like the gym I workout at, and it will be back to normal.:p

Yes, it looks like it is mainly for the big lakes.

I figured somebody would catch'em, I'd say there were alot of fish stuck before we ever got to the lake. Congrats to your brother 18lbs. is a good stringer no matter where your fishin.

I could hear them go past the house this morning just after first light. Sounded like a race, had to be 30 or 40 boats by the sound of it headed for the Sherwood Point end of the lake. Not sure just how many boats were out there but they were parked all the way back out to hwy 973 when I went to Wayne's place for some crickets. By the sound they were off the lake by 2pm as we have not heard many boats go past after that time. Sure glad I was fishing a farm pond and not out trying to stay afloat and not get swamped on Malone.

You should have waited till today. Just drove around by the state ramp and not many trailers in the lot. Not many boats heard this morning either.
