Why is it legal to kill wild hogs year round in Ky. EXCEPT for Mcquery county?

That's a good one I hope you get a answer on this one quick. I've been thinking about hunting in that area for grouse next year and would like to know that myself.

If I'm not mistaken the reason is due to the deer hunters in that particular county getting together and requesting that no hog hunting be allowed except during deer season. They were afraid of what poachers would do to the deer herd in that area if you could be out with a rifle at any time to "hunt hogs". I think this is the reason as I asked the same question months ago. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong though.

The reason is The big South Fork recreation area is controlled by the T.V.A. And this recreation area extends into Mcreary Co.
