I've heard good things about the optima deep cycle batterys. I don't have one myself, but I know some fellas that do and they recommend them.

Where do you find the Gel Sell battery for wheelchairs? Would it be at a Medical Supply Place for Wheelchairs?

I've always used Interstate deep cycle marine batteries in my boats and have a lot of luck with them. Last year I was having a problem with my trolling battery running down and not holding a charge, but found that it was actually a problem in my wiring harness. Since that was fixed, I haven't had any more issues.

Do you bring your batteries inside where its warm in the winter?

I keep mine in my boat year round, but it's in my garage and I have insulated garage doors, at the builders expense not mine...

AC Delco Voyager...... Just bought new ones after 5 years of service and only one was bad of the three. Not too bad considering I use them just about every week.
Gel cells will last a long time, BUT do some homework on the charger unit. They require a low voltage trickle charge. You need a +/- 13.5 float charge on them. Any higher and you will shorten the life.
We were maintaining over 2000 gel cells a year on power supplies. Also on brand names, do some research. There are not many different manufactures of batteries out there. Most of them are made by 3-4 different companies. The ones we used were made by Johnson Controls.

Not really looked up teh info, but would the slow trickle charge given by the built in charging system on a Bass boat work for the charging of the Gel Cell Batteries? Anyone know for sure......... Would hate to invest in the batteries and my charging system not work for them....

You should be able to find the charging voltage and amps from the charging system. The batteries should also have the charging rate with them. High voltage and overcharging is the early death of most batterries
