This fish was caught on 3-13-07 on Cave Run Lake. It was 52.5 inches long around 25 inch girth. According to the musky formula, she weighed around 41 pounds:eek: The ugly man in the picture is a musky guide, Mike Tackett.

If you don't mind my asking, what was it caught on? Don't need specifics, just an idea. I'm heading to Green this weekend, and plan on fishing for them a while.

That fish was caught on a 1 oz. rattle trap. The guide service has put 13 fish in the boat over the last 19 days. All but a couple have been on traps. I don't know about Green with the traps. I'm sure they work.

I appreciate the info. That at least confirms my thoughts that they would be hitting something a bit smaller than your "typical" musky baits. I have a few traps, along with some other cranks that I intend to throw at them all weekend long. Surely I'll luck into one sooner or later. Thanks!

Nice looking fish. It looks long and narrow. I am not use to that. That is one fish I have never caught. Someday I will.

Actually the pics do not do this fish justice. The fish has a girth of 25-26 inches. According to the formula, this fish is about 41+ pounds. If ya ever decide to come to Cave Run let us know!

Nice fish . I caught one out of Buckhorn Lake 2 summers ago that was almost 54 inches long. It was really fat, but I didnt get a pic one and we let it go. I was with my grandpa and uncle and I caught it out of a tree top. The fish was in that tree top feeding on crappie. It followed 2 crappie up that we had caught almost to the boat, and within 5 minutes I caught a little crappie and reeled it up real slow and sure enuff the muskie inhaled the crappie. I ended up hooking it in the end of the nose were it couldnt bite the line. That is the biggest one out of there. I have numerous ones over 40-45 inches. Never kept a one.
