We'll all hope since you only get one day to hunt it won't rain all day. The weather forecast is calling for rain Sat - Mon. Hope not. It's great KY finally made an early fall turkey season. I guess that's why they make rain coats.[;)]

Don't let that rain stop you, boys! Them turkeys won't melt. The Man is keeping me down this weekend, but I'll be out there Monday in anything less than an all-out thunderstorm.

Well.... it was over and down real quick. We heard two different bunches roosted about 300 yards apart so we set up on a little clearing between them. Then we unleashed the secret weapon.... my 6 year old niece. I was practicing yelping with a diaphram call the other day and she started imitating it with just her voice better than I could on the call so when she said she wanted to go, I taught her the old hen whistle and we decide to give her a shot at calling. She sat with my dad and I was about 20 yards in front of them. She called in the group closer to them and my dad took one at about 20 feet. Then after he shot he told her to keep calling and she called one back in for me about 5 minutes later. I've never had it work that good ever. I'm leasing her out for a nominal fee. [;)]
