We'll be in area 5 for the 29/30 hunt. Our group lives close to LBL but we'll camp in the Sugar Bay access area anyway. There is a good population of deer this year in LBL but there are so many acorns they seem scattered. I've bowhunted areas 5 and 10 about 9 times since the season opened on the 27th. Already missed a nice 8 point when a limb jumped out of nowhere and passed a 17 pace shot yesterday on a big doe. Going over there in about 20 minutes to get a last hunt before the area closes for the youth hunt this weekend. Good luck to the area 9 guys. I chased a gobbler all over 9 last spring and was surprised how rugged it is. I thought I was in eastern KY[xx(]. Good luck to everyone. LBL is a great spot.

Congrats to ya joekat46 and all others going down[;)] The thing i love about LBL hunts is that you still have to pass thru a check-in station[;)] I sure miss those check-in stations[:(]
what u get out, is what u put in

You do NOT have to check in this year.[V][xx(]
But all deer must be checked out. I hope they run those rolling road blocks inside LBL again and have "robo" out. When TnDeer had their opening weekend hunt/campout a few of my friends saw and took pictures of a large robo deer on the side of a road in LBL. The last I heard was that they caught and ticketed 27 people with the robo deer. They were charged with shooting from a public road.

I'm heading to LBL the last of this month to bow hunt, can't wait. I don't gun hunt but can't get enough bow hunting and LBL is a great place to hunt and camp.
