With the temps warming up, how many of you turkey hunters have been out scouting. I am hopefully going to pick up another plot of woods to hunt, so I will be out there scouting hard in the next few weeks. Hopefully I will hear some vocal birds.

Been out a couple times close to home before my surgery sizing up the boyz. Looking good! As for calling, why call? No need to call until you can lay the smack down on his ole red/white & blue head.:D

Been scouting since the first of Nov. I am in the woods 4 days a week atleast and may chasing something else I am always on the lookout for the biggest bird in the woods. Rest assured I am not stupid enough to be wandering around calling before I am carrying a shotgun. I leave the pre-season education to the idiots who have usually thrown in the towel by the second week of the season.

I try to get in the woods at least every other weekend. While I'm out, I try to do it all; shed hunt, deer scout, turkey scout, etc. And the last thing I want to do is make the birds call shy a month before the season starts. Just as limbhanger said, let the greenhorns do that! ;) To be honest with you, it doesn't bother me if I don't even see any birds while I'm out. As long as I'm seeing some fresh tracks, scratchings, etc. I'm happy!! :D

Feathers are also a good find to let you know birds are in the area. And a hillside tore up with scratchings.:D

I had a bird gobbling his head off at my peacocks yesterday , every time my peacocks would holler he would hammer back at them...
i guess everything enjoyed the warm weather yesterday..
