Hey guys, the gentleman that I hunt on has an old male Brittany Spaniel. The poor old dog is getting deaf and blind. He asked me to try to find him a female Brittany that was about 2 years old. The dog has to be from somewhere other than Central KY (Marion, Boyle, Casey, Anderson, etc. counties). It seems that old Jake was rather a good breeder in his day and the majority of the Brittanys around the area are his.
Anyone got any leads?

I know a guy in Mason county that keeps Brittanys. I'll try getting in touch and see what he has.

Just curious, GSP, I know two guys in Mason Co. that run Brittanys that are hunting buddies of mine (Jerry Bramel & Ernie Leet). Any chance we have a common acquaintance?

Hey gps,
Any help that you could give me on this would be much appreciated! This old guy is like a dad to me and I try to do everything that I can for him. He hardly ever asks for anything, but this is one thing that he asked me to try to do for him.
If you come up with anything, drop me a line at: Big58cal@hotmail.com
Thanks!
Grouse, these are not the fellows. The guy I know has 2 Britts, 1 setter and a GSP that he bought off me.
.58, I asked around today and I have a fellow calling this weekend. I have located one 2 year old male, but I don't think you would want him (I wouldn't) he hunts like his feet are on fire and his a$$ is catching.
I will let you know what I find Mon or Tue.
Now here is why you should never get away from a GSP!! It doesn't matter what kinda day you had, they will take care of you.

GSP I once new girl that would do that, but she was to slow and didn't have much of a tail eather so I replaced her. I hope you boys keep hunting those types of dogs, that'll mean more birds for grouseguy and me. Now don't get mad I was just funnin.
We need to talk about your resolutions, If you can give me a call. Grouseguy how's those pups doing? If this rain stops we need to set some birds, if you guys are still interested.

Thanks for looking. It's a female I need, about 2 years old. The dog won't be used for hunting. I think the guy wants her for a litter of pups.
Let me know what you come up with.
Again, thanks!
58, that may help if he is just looking for a brood bitch vs a started hunting dog. I'll see what I can do.
Birdman, I'm still interested in setting some birds. I'll get in touch with you this week about the resolutions and why I wrote them.

Anyone heard or found out anything? I talked to the guy this past weekend. He wants about a 2 year old female Brittany Spaniel, liver and white, preferably spaid. He's not going to use her for pups or hunt with her. Old Jake probably won't last through this coming winter. He likes Brittany's and just wants another one.
Let me know if anyone comes up with anything.

Let me know what you come up with Birdman. If the dog is "weird" or anything, that's OK. I was down at this guy's place for 3 years, every weekend, before Jake would let me pet him! Talk about a weird dog! But then of course, the old man is the same way too.
Is the dog liver & white? That's one thing that the old man was specific about. That an a female.
Thanks and let me know what you come up with.
.58, I hope Birdman can come through for you. I talked to everyone I know that has Britts. After I found out the the guy is looking for a pet and not a hunter, one guy suggested the Brittany Rescue people.

GSP did you get my message about the birds and the federation meeting? Where is this rescue butch located? Never hear of them.
Birdman & Big58,
These folks just try placing Brittanys that have been
forgotten. I know a guy that deals with them some. I don't know much about them other than their web-site. Big58, there are a bunch around the Louisville area listed there. Some are from hunting stock. All have been fixed. Maybe this will be a good match for your friend???

Thanks guys!!!!!!
Looks like the site that GPS put up is just what I was looking for. I would rather give an unwanted dog a home than to try to buy one off of someone that might make a good hunting dog for someone.
This old man is just wanting a pet. Something to keep around the farm to bark at deer and let him know when someone pulls in the drive! I looked at the site briefly and from what I saw, it looks like I can find one of those dogs a home. Gotta get another modem for my mother's PC this week and install it. Then I'll be able to show this guy all of the dogs on the site. I'm sure he'll find something on there he likes.
Again, thanks for all of the efforts of everyone. It's much appreciated!
Good to hear .58,
I hope it works out well for man and dog.
